About this job
The Director of Marketing Services is responsible for managing and leading a team of skilled associates who are focused on marketing project management, marketing print production and warehousing, lean workflow practices, digital asset management, marketing compliance, and capacity and resource planning. The Director of Marketing Services also serves as the Marketing department initiative level operations lead for Company strategic initiatives. Marketing Services serves as the backbone of the CarMax marketing team, delivering planning, governance and support functions to allow core marketing functions to focus on delivering value.
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
Improve productivity and return on investment via workflow experimentation, tools & process optimizations
Develop highly engaged team, growing skills and expanding talent pool
Maintain proactive communications regarding account status across multiple account stakeholders including creative team members, strategy managers and senior management.
Business owner and requirements driver for workflow and process management software. Assess and then continually innovate and improve Marketing Services processes and workflow.
Constantly monitor and improve customer satisfaction as it relates to successful project management`
Create and document marketing services operations best practices policies and procedures and provide detailed Trend Analysis reporting on all creative job performance.
Manage, lead and develop a team of associates across project management, asset management, and partner management functions through timely performance feedback delivered during day-to-day observations, file reviews and an annual performance review.
Responsible for creating individual development plans and business objectives designed to enhance and assist associate growth.
Support the leadership of cross-functional project teams that include strategy, creative, analysts and production through all phases of the project.
Develop and track productivity measurements including output, cycle time, quality, and resource allocation
Oversee DAM system optimization, ongoing implementation, and roadmap
Continue to optimize workflow management tools and process for internal teams and agency partners.
Fully deploy agile teams with agency partners and internal teams
Develop quarterly leadership report outs of Marketing Service key functional areas
Manage capacity across functional groups (including Creative Services, product teams, agencies, install vendors and construction)
Ensure marketing compliance with UDAP laws and all legal regulations
Qualifications and Requirements
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing time, multi-tasking and interruptions
Ability to develop and execute a plan with minimal direction
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within immediate area of business, and when necessary, identifies resources in other areas of the business that can be utilized
Ability to provide “win-win” solutions while resolving customer service issues in a positive and professional manger
Education and/or Experience :
Four-year college degree (Marketing, Advertising or other related field) strongly preferred, but not required
Twelve or more years of experience in Project Management or Traffic Management in a creative environment
Two or more years of experience working in an Agile Marketing environment
Certified Scrum Master, Master Certificate in Project Management and/or PMP Certification preferred
Experience working with marketing workflow systems (i.e. Aprimo, Workfront, Davinci, Infor, etc)
Experience working in an environment where marketing compliance is a priority for the organization
